This is my third version of the compositor node setup which includes the "bilateral denoising filter" of KaiKostack. He has an amazing video and the node setup to achieve the effect. [link]
First section blurs the noise of the scene while preserving the texture while the middle darkens and changes the Ambient Occlusion to multiply instead of Add. The last part is a slightly altered node setup where it adds a small amount of distance fog and glare effects to the scene. The last few nodes just darkens and distort the edge of the picture.

Can I ask how you got so good at setting up a node tree such as this?

The first section of the node tree "Bilateral Denoising" is by KaiKostack which was fun messing with (he also has a link for the node group). The second part of the node tree was easy and fun to add on over time by trial and error, I think I have been adding to it since 2011

I've have used the same configuration for the blur, Vignette, and distance fog for some renders and added to or taken away from them as I went along. The actual nodes I use now are placed into 5 groups to make importing easier.

I'm not sure how to upload the blend file though...

I'd be nice to be able to look at the .blend file. I need alot of practice with these things :lmao:

My favorite GPU renderer :D

Awesome. While it's pretty obvious that a render at only 4 (!) samples isn't presentable, it certainly made it ten-times better, and I can only imagine what it would do to 20 samples or 60.

Yeah, I love how I rarely have to go past 100 samples to get a good render of an interior scene (Those fireflies were killing me).

Disabling the light bounces from 8 to 3-4 and hitting No Caustics usually will help with the bright spots, and reduce grain.

thanks, the node setup takes roughly an additional 10 to 40 seconds to render when set to 1920x1080. I'm currently trying to figure out a way to use less nodes for the last half.
